  77. This package contains the PUT/GET/INSTALL (TM) compression, archive, and
  78. intallation utilities by MicroFox Company.  This document contains only
  79. a brief description of the package and its features, along with
  80. instructions for its installation.  Quite detailed documentation is
  81. included in the package, but it is in archived form, and is more easily
  82. read after installation.

  84. If you've ever wished you could compress/decompress, archive/unarchive,
  85. your files or create an installation utility for your own programs,
  86. then PUT/GET/INSTALL is the program for you...

  88. PUT/GET/INSTALL is a shareware program.  This evaluation version
  89. includes all features of the program, and is not crippled in any way.
  90. You may use it for up to 30 days, without charge (see PUT.DOC, GET.DOC,
  91. or INSTALL.DOC for more details).  If you like the program, and wish to
  92. continue its use after this evaluation period, you are required to pay

  113. ===== Installation =====================================

  115. The installation procedure for PUT/GET/INSTALL is quite simple.  The
  116. package includes a program, "INSTALL.EXE", which automates the
  117. entire process.  You will need about 150K of available disk space
  118. on the hard drive on which you plan to install PUT/GET/INSTALL.
  119.  
  120. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received
  121. PUT/GET/INSTALL.
  122.

  124. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  125.  
  126. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  127.  
  128.    o  Place the PUT/GET/INSTALL distribution diskette in the
  129.       appropriate diskette drive.
  130.  
  131.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program on the distribution diskette.
  132.       For example, if the distribution diskette is on drive A:, type
  133.       the MS-DOS command, "a:install".
  134.  
  135.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  136.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
  137.       are actually made to the contents of your hard drive.  The
  138.       program will ask you for a destination directory, and will copy
  139.       the PUT/GET/INSTALL files to that directory. If you so direct it,
  140.       the installation program will install executable programs and
  141.       documentation in other directories of your choice.  It will make
  142.       no other changes; specifically, it will not modify your
  143.       autoexec.bat or config.sys files.

  146. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  147.  
  148. If you downloaded PUT/GET/INSTALL from a BBS (or received it in the form
  149. of archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  150. following steps.

  152.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  153.       directory on your hard drive.  The procedure for doing this
  154.       varies, depending on the form in which you received the package.
  155.       In all likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means
  156.       that you already have the necessary tools and knowledge to
  157.       perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  158.       directions for this from the same source from which you received
  159.       the package.

  161.    o  Execute the "INSTALL.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  162.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  163.       the PUT/GET/INSTALL package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute the
